What a Difference a Day Makes

They say timing makes all the difference. The two sunset images above illustrate how true this phrase is. The pictures were taken 24 hours apart at the same location at the Colfax RV Park. The top image was taken by our friend Jack Lofton on July 3rd and I took the bottom image on July 4th. Barb and I had to go to a wedding the evening of July third, so we missed the spectacular sunset that Jack captured so well.

We had a great weekend with our club, the Cenla Roadrunners, as we celebrated Independence Day. Many others were enjoying the holiday too. There was plenty of activity on the river. A very large speed boat launched, but waited to take off at full power so we weren't able to observe its rooster tail at close range. Our group enjoyed a great Fourth of July feast of barbeque and all the trimmings followed by fireworks. Isn't it great to spend quality time with good friends!
