A large, adventurous group from our chapter undertook the hike to Cedar Creek Falls.
The trail is two miles out and then of course two miles back.
The scenic beauty helped somewhat to take our minds off the often steep and rocky trail.
The recent rains added to the water features.
The kids had more energy than we did.
They had fun climbing the large boulders that they encountered along the way.
We often stopped to recharge our batteries as we worked our way down the switchbacks.
Cedar Creek was bank to bank with the runoff from the recent rains. Thank goodness there was a bridge.
This bridge would be the scene of “the Troll” demanding money from these two to cross the bridge on the way back.
Even the kids took a rest from time to time, but more than likely just to let us catch up.
Dylan discovered the small Ringneck Snake that you can see in the middle of this picture
as it peeks out from the top right of the hollow in the log.
The grandkids stopped to lift up boulders on the way.
At last we reach the fabulous Cedar Creek Falls.
A quick rest and we head back.
Dylan was coaxed into climbing up on the cantilever log caught between two trees in the background.
It’s up and out as we climb back up the switchbacks to Mather Lodge.
Back at Mather Lodge, the Troll, (Mike O’Brien) our chapter president, still has energy to tease and tickle Hailey.
