Foley, AL and Gulf Shores

We traveled on to Summerdale, AL and stayed at the Escapee's Rainbow Plantation RV Park. We are here to visit John and Barbara, some of our HitchHiker friends, who live in Foley, Al. No trip to Foley would be complete without a trip to Lambert's Cafe. We went there for an awesome lunch complete with "throwed rolls". We were stuffed and had enough leftovers for two more meals. After lunch they took us down to Gulf Shores.

The beaches there are so clean and the water is so clear. This is a great place for beach goers. You can swim in the surf, walk the beach, or search for shells and sea glass. There were a few people enjoying the beach despite it being after Labor Day.

There is a great pavillion on the beach where you can shower or have a picnic lunch.

Across the road from the beach is a wonderful state park with over 400 RV sites. Along the road some Osprey nests can be seen in some of the dead trees left from some past hurricane.

Further west some condos can be seen in the distance that are
across the border in Florida.

A Blue Heron posed for us on the railing below the bridge to FLorida.

A few fishermen under the bridge were enjoying the afternoon trying to bring in the catch of the day.

Some people prefer to take a charter boat to try their hand at deep sea fishing

Across the bridge to the east is the Sunshine State.
